According to the American Cancer Society, over 200,000 women were diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004 and one in seven women will develop breast cancer during their lifetime. Breast cancer enters the lives of the women affected and the lives of their families like an unwelcome, dangerous house guest. Since its creation 20 years ago, Breast Cancer Awareness Month has helped promote the awareness of this deadly disease by educating women about various methods of breast cancer detection and treatment options. Every October, the nation focuses on supporting breast cancer awareness and research, while providing information on the latest tests and treatments that can improve the survival rate for women with breast cancer. As part of our contribution to the ongoing effort to raise awareness and help in the fight to eradicate breast cancer, Flower Peddler has designed this special gift basket, "Send Breast Cancer Packing!!" and will contribute 20% of sales to support the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
